The 2nd annual Speed Capital South Florida Invitational is scheduled for February 26-27, 2022 at Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, FL. Last year’s version of the event garnered 800 athletes and over 2000 spectators; we are anticipating a 20% increase in both areas for the 2022 event. Special thanks to our host club “Run to Be Fit Track Club” (RBF) for working diligently with our National Meet Director Monica Snead to ensure all operation needs were met. Additionally, we would like to thank Clarence Williams and the Ansin Sports Complex administrative staff for their effort and cooperation.
Undoubtedly, this event is going to be an amazing outing packed with some of the most talented youth competitors in the country; as it stands, registrations by state include Wisconsin, New York, Colorado, Georgia, North Dakota, South Carolina, and Florida. We anticipate to have athletes from more than fifteen states in attendance by end of registration.
Most recently, the international community has displayed a great amount of interest in the event; the Bahamian Association of Athletic Associations (BAAA) and the Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) have both committed to sending their athletes to participate. This is a great opportunity for athletes from both organizations, as well as our state bound athletes, to encounter new competition unlike that which they have previously faced. For our international athletes, there is an added value – the results from this event will also be used to qualify them for the 2022 CARIFTA Games in Kingston, Jamaica.
Registration for the Speed Capital South Florida Invitational closes on Wednesday February 23, 2022 at 11:59pm. Unfortunately there will be no late, or day of, registrations permitted; there is a tremendous amount of administrative work that remains to be done after the closing of the event to ensure the meet is ran efficiently. Please register early!
As always, we remain committed to enhancing the youth track & field experience for our parents, athletes, coaches, & clubs (P.A.C.C) and thank you all for your continued support.
